It’s almost an year (21 April 2008 i emigrated to NRW) and finally I feel at home. The radio plays songs with a language I now partially understand. I do not feel anymore in the land of nowhere. Yesterday eve a birthday of a dear friend, we had fun. And… I was speaking in german.
Candles in the room, the radio playing… my laptop, a broadband internet connection, the stomach is full, what else I need? 😉
Let’s have a look at this code… I need to fix it before monday morning and prepare a presentation of it for some colleagues…

Ieri mi sono spaventato.
Stanno aggiornando i programmi in SUPSI ed è comparso un secondo esame di lingue (tedesco, ovviamente).
Poi mi hanno spiegato che vale solo per il tempo pieno … e non per noi sciamannati del pap.

Fai cambio? Io ho da spiegare a 4 manager sciamannati e a dai pseudo tecnici che 1/RT = frequenza… RT = response time … e che #client per la frequenza ti da il throughput teorico di un’applicazione… tradotto: piu’ di quello il sistema non va ed e’ inutile che scassino a me le balle per avere 2000 threads (si, dico 2000) per processo. E li tiene cmq, non ti dico le ottimizzazioni di codice che mi sono inventato. (ho da creare, con 2 macchine, lo stesso traffico che 30 dovrebbero reggere come server… è un po impari non trovi? )

In Italia i servizi costano il doppio e valgono la metà. Provare per credere. Se varcate il confine francese o austriaco la posta arriva puntuale, le connessioni si pagano fino a un terzo in meno. E nessuno ruba quello che spedite….
